St. Benedict the Moor Church, founded in 1889, is a Christ centered, Spirit filled African American Roman Catholic Parish located on Freedom Corner in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
We are committed to the spiritual growth of our parish community through prayer, devotion to the sacraments, dedication to education, advocacy, outreach to the poor and being a place of welcome and diversity.
We are committed to creating a deeper awareness in our parish family that through our Baptism we have become a part of the Body of Christ. And it is because of this participation in Christ's life, that we have the responsibility to use our time, talents and resources to spread the good news of salvation.
